Karl's '68 Coupe

John and Lyn Karl

1968 Highland Green Coupe with Black Vinyl top

This was our Aunt Winnie's Car!

This 1968 Mustang Hardtop was built July 23, 1968 for Winifred K. Quinn(Aunt Winnie) in the San Jose plant.  It was shipped to Casey Meyers Ford in St. Joseph, Missouri.  It has been in the family since that time.

It has highland green paint with a black vinyl roof and nugget gold bucket seats.  The engine is a 289-2V with automatic transmission.  The car cost $3685.10 in 1968. This was including $74.45 in rail charges. It currently has under 50,000 miles. It is in original condition.

Aunt Winnie stored the car for years in a heated and carpeted garage.  When she moved to a nursing home in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2000 she gave the car to her nephew, John D. Karl.

John remembers going to the drive-in movie to see "The Sound Of Music" when he was a little boy in the back seat of this very car. John and Lyn have gladly made room for this unrestored jewel in their garage!
